Oatmeal is the key to a healthy and cheerful morning, because it contains many useful components, and if it is eaten with fruit, it saturates the body until lunch, allowing you to always be in a good mood and full of energy.

Here is a recipe for rolled oatmeal porridge in a slow cooker.

Ingredients:

  • multi-cooker for cereals (any grind or flakes);
  • four multicooker glasses of water; for thicker porridge, use only three glasses;
  • a little butter;
  • salt;
  • sugar;
  • dried fruits or pieces of fruit.

Cooking oatmeal porridge in a slow cooker

The multicooker bowl is greased with oil. Some people rub a piece of butter at the edge of the sides to prevent the porridge from running away. We wash the Hercules porridge and transfer it to a slow cooker. Add water, salt or sugar. Mix everything well. If you decide to use dried fruits, they are added 10 minutes before the end of cooking so as not to become sour. If these are fresh fruits, berries or nuts, it is better to add them directly to the plate, otherwise they will disintegrate during the cooking process and you will end up with an incomprehensible-looking mixture rather than porridge.

Then close the multicooker lid and select the appropriate mode. There are several of them, depending on the model: “milk porridge”, “buckwheat”, “porridge”, “quick cooking” and sometimes they use the “steamed rice” program.

The cooking time is set by the manufacturer, so you need to wait until the end of cooking and the signal from the device (usually rolled oats porridge in a multicooker takes about 45-50 minutes to cook). Now you can open the lid and stir the porridge with a special spoon. You can serve with honey, fruit or nuts.

Do you want to prepare a quick and very healthy breakfast? Make oatmeal porridge in a slow cooker. Moreover, it is permissible to cook cereal with both milk and water. What else to add to the plate when serving is up to you. These can be berries, fruits, nuts, chocolate and other ingredients.

What is the difference between cooking the presented porridge in a modern machine or the old fashioned way in a saucepan on the stove? First of all, convenience and simplicity. So, in the first case, the ratio of ingredients for milk porridge will always be the same. Namely: two to one.

In addition, you can simply close the slow cooker and go about your morning business, rather than standing near the stove, stirring the mixture so that it can cook evenly. But it will take approximately the same amount of time - 20 minutes. Although it may vary depending on the power of the machine.

It is also important to say a little about the quality of the cereal. It is recommended to choose cereals packaged in transparent bags and only from trusted manufacturers. Firstly, through the film you can see if there are any impurities inside, and also evaluate the integrity of the flakes. Secondly, such rolled oats are not exposed to moisture, which means that an unpleasant musty smell will not appear inside.

Having chosen the right rolled oats and checked the expiration date of the milk, it’s time to start creating a hearty breakfast.

For porridge we need to take:

  • a glass of rolled oats;
  • two glasses of milk;
  • butter for the bowl;
  • 1 tbsp. l. white sugar;
  • a pinch of rock salt.

Step-by-step instruction:

  1. Review the light dry cereal and measure out the planned amount. In addition, open a package of fresh milk of any fat content.
  2. Turn on the multicooker and generously grease the inside surface with butter.
  3. Pour in a couple of standard glasses of milk, add sugar and salt. Mix with a silicone spatula.
  4. Add the flakes and mix gently in a circle. Snap the lid and set the “Porridge” mode.
  5. Cook oatmeal porridge in a slow cooker for a third of an hour, without opening the machine, so as not to disturb the temperature.
  6. At the end, mix the viscous sweet mass, place it in a medium-deep plate and add a piece of soft butter.

To prevent milk from “escaping” through the valve, it is important to completely cover the walls of the container with an oil layer, which will hold back the rising porridge.

Cooking with water

If for any reason you have to exclude milk from your diet, prepare porridge with water.

Required Products:

  • filtered water - 500 ml;
  • rolled oats - 250 g;
  • salt;
  • butter - 20 g;
  • sugar - 10-15 g.

Step by step instructions:

  1. Cut half a piece of butter and lightly grease the inside of the bowl to the middle. Place the container in the machine.
  2. Set the required “Porridge” mode and immediately fill the planned volume with clean water. As soon as it starts to boil, add sugar and a little salt.
  3. Enter Hercules flakes. Cook the porridge in water for about 20 minutes, without opening the machine or stirring the contents.
  4. After the signal, turn off the multicooker.
  5. Place the thick porridge on plates, be sure to season with the remaining butter and serve with tea for breakfast.

Since porridge in water turns out somewhat bland, it is quite acceptable to add grated chocolate or small berries at the time of serving to enhance the taste.

How to cook thin porridge

Don't like sticky, thick porridges? Increase the volume of liquid used and the problem will be solved.

For porridge you need to take:

  • a glass of cereal;
  • 3 glasses of milk (3.2%);
  • a full spoon of sugar;
  • vanilla to taste;
  • butter into a bowl.

Cooking step by step:

  1. Wipe the multicooker bowl and generously grease it with enough fresh butter. Install into the car.
  2. Plug in and set the “Porridge” mode. Immediately pour three full glasses of medium-fat milk inside.
  3. Once warm, add vanilla and sugar. Mix in a circular motion.
  4. Immediately add a glass of light cereal while continuing to stir. Snap the lid.
  5. Cook oatmeal porridge with milk for no more than a quarter of an hour, then turn off the multicooker and leave it to partially cool inside. That's all, we figured out how to cook liquid porridge.

The more milk (or water) is used, the thinner the porridge will be. However, you should not increase the ratio three to one, since the breakfast will turn out watery.

Cooking Hercules porridge in a slow cooker is as easy as all other porridges. This simple, tasty and very healthy dish is a wonderful breakfast. Hercules porridge can be prepared with milk. If homemade milk is very fatty, and the porridge is being prepared for children, then it is advisable to dilute the milk with water. The main thing is to maintain proportions. For 1 glass of rolled oats there should be 2 glasses of liquid. If you want the porridge to be more liquid than in the photo, you can slightly increase the amount of liquid.

Prepare the necessary products.

Pour oatmeal into the multicooker bowl and fill it with milk and water.

Add sugar. The amount of sugar depends on what you serve the porridge with, and also depends on your taste.

Set the multicooker to “Porridge” mode and cook the porridge with the lid closed.

Since in this mode cooking takes place at a temperature of 90 ° C, I use already boiled or pasteurized milk and boiled water. If your milk and water are not boiled, you can first boil the water and milk, and then add the oatmeal. In order to boil milk and water, you need to pour milk and water into the multicooker bowl and turn on any mode in the multicooker at which the cooking temperature is more than 100°C. For example, this could be the “Rice/Pilaf” mode, which maintains a temperature of 105°C. When the milk and water boil, add the oatmeal. Continue cooking in the “Porridge” mode.

By default, the “Porridge” mode in the multicooker cooks porridge for 1 hour. If you have a time adjustment in your multicooker, you can reduce the time to 30-40 minutes. This is quite enough to get a delicious oatmeal porridge.
