National Park "Vodlozersky"

The total area of the Vodlozero Park is 468.3 thousand hectares, including 130.6 thousand in the territory of the Republic of Karelia and 337.6 thousand hectares in the Arkhangelsk region. The area of untouched forests of the park exceeds the area of all forests Western Europe taken together.

History of creation The national park was created by the decision of the government Russian Federation in April 1991 to preserve the unique natural complex in the basin of Lake Vodlozero and the Ileksa River. In 2001, by decision of UNESCO, the park was given the status biosphere reserve, the first in the system of national parks in Russia.

Wetlands occupy 40% of the area of the Park One of the phenomena of the Park is its high degree of swampiness. The predominance of swamps in a number of places in the Vodlozero region is a mystery, because the territory of the Park is located on a relatively high, 150-200 m above sea level, flat plateau. In the swamps of the park (40%), cranberries and cloudberries grow in large quantities, as well as medicinal plants.

The Ilyinsky churchyard is a real pearl of the Vodlozero region, both as an architectural monument of the 18th century and as the center of the spiritual life of this secluded region, April 16, 1798 is considered the date of construction of the church, but the news about the churchyard dates back to the 17th century.

the village of Varishpelda For several years in a row, at the beginning of August, a festival of bell ringing has been held on Vodlozero, accompanied by the arrival of master bell ringers from all over Karelia and beyond. The Park has its own school of bell ringing. As part of the festival, masters and their students give free concerts for residents and guests of Vodlozero.

Varishpelda village Chapel Tikhvin icon Mother of God The life of the village is supported by the family of the rector of the parish and some parishioners from the village of Kuganavolok. Varishpelda has become an example of the revival of an abandoned Vodlozero village.

the village of Varishpelda Varishpelda is the first place in the National Park where the cultural rural landscape has been restored and maintained precisely through traditional system agricultural land use.

Biodiversity of the Earth

The inexhaustible diversity of the biological world of our planet is stunning.

They are so different, living next to us ...

Huge whales and small amoebas, creepy sharks and funny penguins, tall sequoias and thick baobabs, luxurious roses and wild flowers that are invisible at first glance...

I love wild flowers very much for their dim beauty, for the fact that they are found everywhere with us and, when they meet, trustfully and joyfully nod to me.

The legend tells that one of the beautiful daughters of Atlas, pursued by the burning rays of the sun god, turned to Zeus with a plea for protection.

And the great Thunderer hid in a shady grove, turning into a flower.

He was depicted on coins.

It was considered a symbol of the modesty of innocence.

These bright flowers appear first on spring clearings.

Bright heads rejoice in the sun.

The top of the sheet is smooth, cold - “stepmother”, the lower part is fluffy, soft - “mother”

My most favorite flower

Ramon and Katerina once lived in love. He was a violinist, she was a singer,

where they stepped bright white spots flashed flowers.

These flowers were born of great love.

In 1500, in Italy, Bishop Paulinius heard flowers begin to chime softly under a light breeze. The bishop took this as a sign from God and ordered a gigantic image of this flower to be fixed on top of the cathedral.

According to Slavic legend, the water queen saw her lover from the other side. Tears rolled from her beautiful eyes. Then these tears turned into delicate flowers, studded with magical pearls.

Since then, this flower has been considered a symbol of pure and tender love.

Scilla

According to folk legend, this flower arose from pieces of the sky that fell to the ground.

Its Latin name is Scylla, which means sea bow. Many nations have a belief that this flower heals the sick.

It is considered a flower of good mood.

Buttercup

A long time ago, Pan Vykrush lived in a village, who was very fond of poultry meat. Once he released the birds into a meadow with beautiful flowers, the birds ate the flowers and became blind.

Since then, this flower has been called “night blindness”.

By Natalia Oshutinskaya

This presentation was created by a 3rd grade student based on memories of the first visit to the Vodlozero National Park in the Pudozh District of the Republic of Karelia

Amazing close by! My thoughts on what I saw (journey in the summer of 2008)

It's me - Oshutinsky Seryozha, a student of the 3rd grade of the MOU secondary school of the village of Pudozhgorsky, Pudozhsky district of the Republic of Karelia

I so dreamed of visiting the Vodlozero National Park, which I heard a lot about! We arrived!

We were expected. The boat rocked on the waves.

We listen to the story of the guide, Elena Vyacheslavovna, who told us about the bird of prey of Vodlozero - the sea eagle.

We listen and admire the beautiful islands, of which there are many, the clear clear water of the lake. Wonderful!

I try to see the islands, sandy shores through binoculars.

We moored. Now you need to get to the island by boat to see the monument with your own eyes

The mysterious ancient island greeted us warmly. Elena Vyacheslavovna reminds us of the rules of conduct in the temple and on its territory.

On this island is the Ilyinsky churchyard - an architectural monument of the 16th-11th century, which is subject to state protection.

In the very center of Vodlozero stands Ilyinsky churchyard. A secluded island with a wooden temple was once the center of a large district.

With what excitement and trepidation we examined the Church of the Prophet Elijah, which was erected in 1898 instead of the burnt one!

The bell tower is the oldest part of the Ilyinsky churchyard. We have been there too.

We were told that the church is preserved as a living temple - the spiritual center of Vodlozero.

Every year on August 2, hundreds of people come here to take part in the celebration of Ilyin's Day.

It was very interesting to listen to the story about the icons. Stood and looked at the faces of the saints

True, an interesting birch ?!

We admired this miracle of nature for a long time. 12 stems from one root.

Saying goodbye to the churchyard, we took pictures at the entrance to the temple, admired the domes, thanked the guide for an interesting story.

With bated breath, we enter the old chapel on the island of Kanzanavolok…

The masters in Rus' did not interlace! I have admiration for such people. Only marvelous hands can make such a boat.

Such amazing beauty can only be seen here!

We are so happy with the trip! Fresh air, greenery of forests, cries of birds, blue water - all this gives a festive mood.

We are leaving, time has flown by so imperceptibly ... There is no such nature anywhere! Lots of water, greenery, blue skies, clean air. Amazing edge!

Come visit us and enjoy this beauty! Not
