Kulirka - what is this fabric?

What is the fabric of the cooler?

General characteristics

Kulirka or satin stitch is a thin and smooth knitted fabric, the basis of which is pure cotton. The canvas is produced using machine stocking knitting of thin threads of cotton fiber. This fabric is a kind of knitwear.

The name has French roots and in translation sounds like "bend". The front side of the fabric is a pattern in the form of a scar, and the wrong side is made in the form of brickwork.

According to numerous reviews, cooler products give a feeling of lightness and comfort. Due to its unique properties and naturalness, it is preferred in the tailoring of children's clothing and home textiles.

Compound

The main raw material for the production of coolers is cotton, but other materials can be used in the composition to improve consumer characteristics:

  • Polyurethane. This material is added to increase elasticity and durability. It has hypoallergenic properties. In addition, this composition will ensure the preservation of the original color of the fabric. The color stays vibrant even after many washes. A noticeable disadvantage of this composition is the fact that the product gives a precipitate after the first wetting.
  • Polyester. This material is added together with polyurethane. Thanks to him, the fabric does not “sit down” and does not shed from washing. This composition provides fabrics with high density. Among the disadvantages: low hygroscopicity and rigidity of the material.
  • Silk, wool. These materials can also be components of sock knitwear. In this composition, the fabric is made less often.
  • Lycra. This additive is used to ensure that the finished product stretches well in width and retains its shape. Cooler with lycra is also called song cooler.

Varieties of culinary surface

  • Melange. This type is made up of multi-colored, but similar in color threads.
  • Stuffed. This variety is produced by embossing, stamping and applying a geometric pattern.
  • Plain dyed. Monophonic fabric of absolutely any color.

Analogues of the culinary surface

There are many varieties of knitted fabrics. Their production is based on similar raw materials, but they can all have different properties. The following fabrics are considered the most similar in composition to the cooler:

Interlock

Double-sided material obtained by weaving with an "elastic band", when the pattern is created by alternating the front and back columns. The high density of this material is provided by such weaving. The fabric hardly stretches. As for which is better: interlock or cooler, the interlock is superior to the cooler in terms of wear resistance and material strength, but due to the high density, the fabric is not very suitable for sewing light summer products.

Footer

Dense and warm material, smooth on the face and softly brushed on the inside. This fabric is used for sewing warm clothes. Advantages: pellets are not formed during operation, it is very weakly stretched. Disadvantage: if the products are washed at elevated temperatures, the fabric will shrink.

Ribana

Double-sided jersey, which is obtained by knitting a double weave. The fabric perfectly holds its shape and stretches in width. Like the cooler, clothing for the smallest is very popular in the production.

Piqué

Knitted fabric, which is produced by combined weaving. The fabric does not shrink even when washed in hot water using a washing machine. Lightweight, pleasant to the body fabric, often used in summer clothing collections.

The main advantage of the cooler over analogues is the thinness and lightness of the knitted fabric. Things sewn from it become indispensable in the summer heat.

Advantages and disadvantages of a cooler

The material of the cooler is a high quality fabric that meets a number of consumer requirements. Due to the naturalness of the raw materials, it is the most environmentally friendly and hypoallergenic. Practicality is achieved due to the smoothness and inherent property of practically not wrinkling.

The unique production process of the fabric does not allow it to stretch in length, while allowing good stretch in width, which makes the products of the cooler extremely convenient and comfortable. In addition, the material has wear resistance and strength, it does not shed and is easy to care for.

In such clothes, the body “breathes” well, the fabric absorbs excess moisture. This is ensured by the hygroscopic and hygienic properties of the material.

In their feedback on cooler fabric, consumers note a number of important advantages:

  • The fabric has a pleasant silky sheen, the degree of which depends on the grinding of the threads underlying the raw material. Smoothness gives an aesthetic appearance to the canvas and prevents the formation of pellets.
  • Possessing light and airy qualities, the cooler is still quite a durable material.
  • The cost of the material is quite democratic. The main component of the price is the original grade of raw materials.
  • Any decoration is good on the cooler. For this, silk-screen printing, thermal printing, embroidery are used.
  • High resistance to various mechanical damage. The property is achieved due to the density of the material, created using a unique technology of fine weaving.

The only significant drawback of the culinary surface is the possibility of subsidence. But this happens if the product is not properly cared for, do not adhere to general, fairly simple recommendations.
